As an artist who works with the natural pigments of watercolour, I find inspiration in the beauty of the natural world around us. I work hard to breathe life into my subjects, recreating them in vibrant, expressive paintings.
A life-long animal lover, I will often travel out to wildlife parks, nature reserves and sanctuaries armed with camera, sketchbook and easel. Bold, passionate use of colour, captivating portrayal of movement and an essence of the subject are what I most strive for. Watercolour sits well with my style due to its spontaneity and expressiveness.
Although known for my animal paintings, I also relish the challenge of painting en plein air landscape and built environment. I’m also a keen attendee of life drawing and believe that quick, lively draughtsmanship is a vital foundation of my art.
I exhibit throughout the South, including selected National Trust and RHS venues, a recent highlight being invited as a key artist in Cotehele’s May 2017 exhibition 11th February to 28th May. A list of galleries and upcoming shows / events can be seen here

I’m also available for commissions and regard it as a privilege when asked to recreate a much-loved animal companion or special scene expressively.
